Antonietta Collins
Antonietta Toni Collins (born in Mexico) is a Mexican American journalist. Her employer is ESPN and is a SportsCenter News Anchor. She was hired by ESPN as a news anchor in 2016. She is the daughter of television reporter Maria Antonieta Collins. Antonietta has been bilingual since the age of nine. Her ability was crucial in helping her get her first post as a production assistant for Univision Miami in which she was a producer of programs including Nuestra Belleza Latina and Premios Lo Nuestro Premios Juventud. Then, in St. Petersburg, she was later hired as a reporter by the CBS station as the sports reporter. She moved from St. Petersburg to Rio Grande Valley in 2009 as a reporter for KNVO TV 48 Univision. Spanish stations KNVO TV 48 Univision, and Fox2 News. Reporting on stories about the issue of immigration and drug trafficking from both sides of Mexico-Texas border, she was an anchor for the 5 p.m. Spanish newscast a reporter and later anchor of news at 9 p.m. news in English and also a reporter again for at 10 p.m. Spanish newscast. She was also often asked to fill in as anchors for the weather and sports. Deportes 23 in Dallas, Univision's station affiliated with Dallas. There she had more accountability. She produced pieces about Major League Baseball ALDS ALCS and World Series as well Dallas Cowboys NBA postseason Finals FC Dallas, and Dallas Stars. In addition, she hosted the local Univision 23 sports show Accion Deportiva Extra. She was promoted to sports anchor on Despierta America Deportes' morning show. Also, she was an anchor on sports on Primer Impacto, a magazine program on the UniMas Network and Contacto Deportivo. Antonietta Collin's parents originally hail from Veracruz Mexico. Her birth date was November 22nd the 22nd of November, 1985, in Mexico City. Her older sister is also hers. There is an older sibling. In 1992, the couple divorced then shortly thereafter in 1995 she remarried Fabio Fajardo who was an engineer in the naval sector who died in 2006 from kidney cancer. The summer vacation that she stayed with her younger sister at Canton Ohio where the older Collins girl had secured an employment. Antonietta who was in high school who had a vision of how she would like her life to look like, traveled to Mount Union University to determine what she could get out of the college. It turned out that she loved the school and they were offering the kind of program she was searching for. Her studies were completed and she was admitted to the university for a master's degree in media studies. Mark Bergmann - her professor and director of WRMU (91.1 FM) which was where she felt at home. He was the one who boosted her confidence and whose passion for Journalism deeply touched her. As a result, she was determined to exceed his expectations and never let him down.
